Save KPLU Campaign Update: February 25

We have raised close to 1.7 million! Thank you!

It was wonderful seeing and talking with so many of you at our first community meeting in Tacoma last Thursday. There were lots of great questions about the campaign, and many people had ideas for fundraisers and volunteer opportunities.

One of those ideas is now a reality: A group of volunteer organizers has come together to stage a fundraising event in Port Orchard!

It’s Save KPLU “Kitsap Style!” Join your fellow Save KPLU supporters on Saturday March 19th at the Dragonfly Cinema, 822 Bay St. Doors open at 7p. There will be a Q&A with the Save KPLU team at 7:30, followed by a showing of Sweet & Lowdown at 8:00. Admission is FREE, but donations to the

Save KPLU campaign are much appreciated.

Thanks to Larry Sukut, Dragonfly Cinema and the Port Orchard community for organizing this event.

Big news — two loyal listeners have issued a challenge grant for $200k. Starting tomorrow Friday, February 26th, donations to the Save KPLU campaign will be matched dollar for dollar — but we only have until March 11th to do it. If you’ve already given, please consider another donation to help us make the deadline. If you haven’t given, this is the perfect time! Double your money — go to KPLU.ORG starting tomorrow to participate in the challenge.

Tickets are now on sale for the Cliff Mass ‘Save KPLU’ Fundraiser, Wednesday March 16th, 7:30-9:00 at University of Washington’s Kane Hall. Click here for all the details and to buy tickets.

We have four more community meetups scheduled. Here’s the rundown, click for full info:
