Save KPLU Campaign Update: March 3

Dear Friends,

Last week two loyal listeners challenged you to match their $200k donation. You did it in only SIX days, and pushed us past the $2 million mark! Thank you!!
There is still a long way to go. We have $4.9 million left to raise, and it’s going to take all of us to make it happen. If you haven’t yet donated, please consider a generous one-time donation, plus sustaining support.

501(c)(3) STATUS

We’ve had lots of inquiries on the status of our 501(c)(3) application. The IRS has notified us that they are processing it. The application has been expedited, so we hope to have tax-exempt status soon. We’ll let you know as soon as we get word.

We’re happy to announce that longtime KPLU supporter and former PLU Music Professor Donna Poppe is our new volunteer coordinator. She is the point person for all things volunteer. Want to throw a fundraiser? Want to donate services? Want to throw a house party? Let Donna know:

You can find all Save KPLU Events on the KPLU Calendar. Our next community meeting is coming up this Monday night at Bake’s Place in Bellevue, from 7:00 to 8:30. Doors open at 6p, there will be a cash bar — come early and meet other KPLU supporters. Bake’s Place is at 155 108th Ave NE.
We’d also love to see you at our event on March 16th at UW Kane Hall with KPLU meteorologist Cliff Mass. His talk is called, “Weather Forecasting: From Superstition to Supercomputers.” Tickets start at $25.

Thanks for your support!
