Save KPLU Update: June 16

Dear Friends,

Pacific Lutheran University and Friends of 88.5 FM are negotiating the purchase of the KPLU license. We will be sure to let you know when we’ve reached a successful agreement. Thanks for all of your help and support over the past months.

CONTINUED SUPPORT

We’ve had many inquires over whether we are still taking donations for Friends of 88.5. The simple answer is: YES. You can donate here. To start a monthly sustaining membership, please call 800-677-5758. Your support is critical as we transition to an independent station and will help fund the operating and programming costs of a new 88.5. We plan to present all of our supporters with a budget of the new operation. We’ll have that for you soon.

EVENTS

There are a couple of Save KPLU events planned throughout June. All money raised at remaining events will go to the Friends of 88.5 FM operating budget. You can find details for these events on the KPLU Calendar page.

  • June 19: Celebrate Father’s Day and Save KPLU with six outstanding vocalists at the Historic University Theatre in Seattle hosted by Seattle Women in Jazz.
  • June 24: Traditions Cafe and World Folk Art in Olympia presents a showing of “Jazz on a Summer’s Day,” the acclaimed documentary about the 1958 Newport Jazz Festival.

Thanks for your support!
