Friends of 88.5 FM Update: July 21

Dear Friends,

Last week, we threw open the doors to our Seattle studios to say thank you for helping to “Save KPLU” — and the turnout was stunning! Hundreds came to tour the studios, meet the voices behind the mic, and to express how excited they were for an independent 88.5. It was a packed house, and at one point the line stretched out to the street!

Our next party is in Tacoma, and this time we’re making sure there will be plenty of room. You’re invited to the Pantages Theater for free food and drink, giveaways, and thank-yous all around. KPLU staff and personalities will be on hand to say hello, and there will be wonderful music by the Kareem Kandi Band.
It all happens Thursday, July 28 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Pantages Theater, 901 Broadway, Tacoma.

We look forward to seeing you!

We’ve received more than 1,500 submissions for call letters, and we’re winnowing them down as fast as we can. The final decision on the call letters rests with the 88.5 management team. If we choose your suggestion, then you will get to read the call letters for the first time on 88.5.

You still have time to submit a suggestion: click here.
